Bement joins the world in its outpouring of sympathy and support for Haiti. Many of you may have already found the way you'd like to help in such a tragic time, but we hope you'll join us in either of the following initiatives at Bement:
Third grader Annika Johnson has organized a coin drive to benefit the victims of the earthquake. Starting on Monday, January 25, money will be collected in both lower school buildings. The donations will be given to Partners in Health, an organization backed by local author Tracy Kidder.
Bement teacher and poet Amie Keddy is writing 100 poems in 100 days and seeking pledge support per poem. Two hundred people at $1.00 per poem could raise an impressive $20,000. These proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross, with special designation to Haiti Relief and Development. These donations can be brought to Bement and called to Amie's attention.
BOTTLE & CAN COLLECTION Students in grades 3, 4 & 5 will be collecting clean cans and bottles with a nickel redemption as a fundraiser for Haiti. The bottle and can drive will run through Thursday, February 25th. Send your clean cans and bottles in with your child(ren) for this Drake Building fundraiser! .
